I’ve always considered myself a decisive person. Especially when making aesthetic decisions, however the combination of Covid (limiting access to touch and feel shopping) and not living in the actual space has revealed that I am very, very much a design-as-you-go type of human. With that said, here’s a very rough idea of how we plan to makeover the dining room:

A few notes: the buffalo checkered bench is a placeholder. I like the chromatic colors, but am not in love with the pattern for this look. Stay tuned for something either A. simpler and B. more bohemian. To date we’ve gutted the neighboring kitchen which will run into the dining space.

Simeon, per usual, lost no time in starting this project. We closed last Friday, on Saturday a dumpster was already there and with the help of a few brothers/friends, he ripped out the entire kitchen. What did I do while my husband slaved? The incredibly gratifying task of removing 70-year-old wallpaper.

Next steps? Kids rooms are almost painted, carpet goes in tomorrow and Friday! Wood flooring and lower level French doors happen first thing next week. Things are happening! Next ORC update will include some built in overhauls (happening this weekend), and of course a shout out to my fellow ORC participants. For fear of being redundant, check them out here!
